Countryside, the UK's leading mixed-tenure developer specialising in place making and regeneration, and Places for People, the largest UK affordable homes led placemaker, have confirmed the first development agreement under their national framework agreement to accelerate the delivery of up to 10,000 mixed-tenure homes over the next decade.

The £230m scheme in Lower Herne Village in Kent, will deliver 800 new homes, including 240 affordable properties for rental and shared ownership, together with community facilities, new parkland and allotments on the site of the former Strode Farm.

With the first homes planned to be released in 2023, the Master Plan and Design Code proposals for the site are currently under consideration by Canterbury City Council.

Kingsgate Property Consultants acted as advisors to Lower Herne Developments, the landowners.

Andrew Usher, Managing Director, Partnerships South London, Countryside, said:'Having formed a strategic relationship with Places for People to deliver much-needed mixed-tenure housing across the UK, we are thrilled to sign the development agreement for Lower Herne Village so swiftly.
