Bangkok - SCG Chemicals (SCGC) and CP All-7 Eleven have joined forces with ten major partners to promote 'No Waste Bin' ' to become Thailand's largest waste management network, creating an end-to-end waste management system from upstream to downstream. This network brings together stakeholders to collaboratively address the problem, including educators, waste sorters, material delivery groups, recyclers, collectors, product owners, and packaging manufacturers. The network is ready to establish the 'Green Learning Network,' with the goal of expanding the network to 5,567 CONNEXT ED schools nationwide to reduce waste from the source in all areas.

Niwat Athiwattananont, Chairman of Innovation & Circular Economy, SCGC, said that SCGC has always placed high importance on the circular economy by collaborating with various sectors to implement the circular economy principle in ecosystems. This is to increase resource usage efficiency, minimize waste problems, and mitigate global warming. The 'No Waste Bin' network was developed as part of a waste management ecosystem that adheres to the circular economy principles. To help strengthen the ecosystem, SCGC will insist on two initiatives:

KoomKah, a web-based application that enables all schools to view their own waste management outcomes with point collecting features where waste can be redeemed for money or recyclable product. Through the advantages gained, this will motivate all schools to take part in waste management.

Upcycling Milk Pouches Project. School milk pouches used to be waste that no recyclers bought; therefore, they ended up in landfills. SCGC provides youth with waste management knowledge by converting milk pouches into high-quality plastic resins, utilizing its expertise in material sciences and recycling to convert them into school items. Thus, they can be properly used and serve as real-world examples for young people. With the circular economy network, the program is broadened for further adoption.
