-- The executive has been criticized for taking on a double role at the two companies, and for the fact that he pushed for the removal of Credit Suisse chief Antonio Horta-Osorio after helping get him appointed, the paper reports.

-- Mr. Schwan has countered the criticism, saying that the two mandates at the two companies are fundamentally compatible, and that he is now supporting the new head of Credit Suisse in stabilizing the bank, according to Tages-Anzeiger.
