PRESS RELEASE

CREDEM AMONG THE EUROPEAN MOST SOLID BANKS

Best bank in Italy with the lowest impact on capital in case of economic adverse scenario (<300 bps impact on CET1 Ratio)

Credem, among the main national banking groups, was recognized by the European Central Bank as one of the most solid financial institutes on a continental level. In particular, in the context of the stress tests published by the Supervisory Authorities on Friday 30 July, with the aim to verify the resilience of the European banking system to adverse scenarios, Credem reported values that placed it in a leading position both in Italy and in Europe.

In detail, out of the major Italian banks participating into the exercise, only Credem reported an impact on capital ratios, deriving from a potential economic adverse scenario, below 300 bps. This result places the Group among the top 5 banks of the exercise conducted by the European Central Bank and among the best 16 banks within the 101 major European credit institutions involved by the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the European Central Bank (ECB).

This result came in addition of the ECB decision, of November 2020, to reaffirm the Pillar 2 Requirement (P2R) assigned to Credito Emiliano for 2021 at 1%, the lowest in Italy and among European commercial banks, with the total SREP requirement, indicating the minimum capital level assigned for 2021, that amounts to 7.56% for the CET 1 ratio, reflecting the Group capital soundness at the top in the industry.
