On April 15, 2021, Credit Agricole SA on April 14, raised its offer for Italian lender Credito Valtellinese SpA by about Euro120 million ($144 million). The increased offer came as the lender known as Creval and its shareholders called for a higher bid than the Euro10.50-per-share offer made in November. Credit Agricole Italia has boosted its offer to Euro12.20 a share, which values the Company at about Euro856 million compared to Euro737 million with previous bid. The improved offer, however, is still below the level the board of the Italian bank said it would consider acceptable.
