Croatia Airlines d.d. (ZGSE:CRAL) plans to seek HRK 700 million ($104 million /€93 million) in state aid to compensate for the drop in revenue caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and finance expansion plans, local media reported on June 15, 2020. Croatia Airlines will also need HRK 550 million of investments in the further development of its fleet in order to boost its competitiveness, as recommended by the financial advisors hired to help the company find a strategic partner. According to unofficial information, the government in Zagreb is ready to provide Croatia Airlines with financing but the amount of the state aid will be decided upon after the July 5, 2020 parliamentary elections, Jutarnji said.
