ISA CTEEP starts project with green fleet
  • Company will reduce the emission of about 353 tons of CO2e with an exchange of part of the company's administrative light fleet by 2023

São Paulo, August 11, 2021 - ISA CTEEP, largest private electric energy transmission company in the country, starts a pilot project to exchange approximately 40 light vehicles from the company's administrative fleet to electric cars, in line with the goal of reducing two million tons of CO2e on the planet by 2030 in its operation.

The company acquired the first electric vehicle, an IEV20, from Jac Motors, which will be used for employee displacement. The model has a range of up to 350 kilometers, a distance equivalent to the distance from São Paulo to Ribeirão Preto, in the countryside of the state. For a year, the efficiency of the vehicle will be analyzed and then the other cars can be exchanged, which should happen by 2023.

Model acquired by ISA CTEEP

'We are committed to generating sustainable value for society. The beginning of the exchange of our cars for electric vehicles is another way of contributing to the environment and is in line with our values and business strategy', explains Carisa Santos Portela Cristal, Executive Officer of Finance and Investor Relations.

The expectation is that the model acquired by the company will be able to reduce CO2e emissions by up to 3 tons during the pilot project period. Considering the exchange of the entire light fleet in the administrative area, this number will jump to around 353 tons. Also, since 2017, the company has been using ethanol in its light vehicles, which avoided the emission of 930 tCO2e until 2019. At the end of 2020, more than 98% of this fleet was already supplied with this fuel.

The adoption of vehicles powered by clean energy is part of a series of initiatives by ISA CTEEP to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its operation. For example, in 2020, through specific maintenance actions, in addition to improving the techniques applied in the annual asset maintenance plan, the company reduced the emission of SF6 in more than 8%, a gas impacting the greenhouse effect, which is key for the energy sector. in the last quarter of this year, the transmission company will adopt, in armored substations, a machine to dehumidify the SF6 chambers, avoiding any risk of leakage and emission of greenhouse gases.

Through the greenhouse gas neutralization project, in partnership with the company LeasePlan, the company will plant 107 trees this year to offset the emissions of its contracted fleet.
