ISA CTEEP supports AISCE's initiative, in partnership with Yunus, to promote investment in social business in Brazil
São Paulo, August 17, 2021 - Yunus Negócios Sociais, the Brazilian arm of Yunus Social Business, a company co-founded by the Nobel Peace Prize Muhammad Yunus, and the Sociocultural and Business Exchange Association Brazil-Colombia (AISCE) join forces to launch a partnership focused on supporting social entrepreneurship as a way to strengthen the bonds of friendship between peoples and help develop businesses that offer solutions to problems common to both countries and the entire Latin America.

Through Yunus' crowdfunding platform (yunusnegociossociais.inco.vc), the goal is to raise funds under more competitive conditions than those of the financial market, which will be loaned to the chosen social business so that it can consolidate and expand its activities. AISCE will be the campaign's anchor funder, offering R$ 200 thousand from the start. In addition to these resources, any Brazilian individual or legal entity may also invest, lending resources to the selected business and contributing to the expansion of its activities.

For the investor, besides taking out a loan aimed at guaranteeing the return on resources adjusted for inflation (subject to the credit risk of the borrower of the resources), it contributes to generating a positive social or environmental impact. For the entrepreneur, in addition to having access to capital in better conditions than those in the financial market, there will be access to a whole network of mentors from both Yunus and executives from AISCE member companies - ISA CTEEP, Ecopetrol, Gebras and Grupo Sura.

'We were delighted to see AISCE's interest in joining Yunus' efforts to promote social business. Brazil and Colombia, as well as other Latin American countries, have common social and environmental problems, and supporting business that fight these problems will certainly strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between peoples. We hope that this is just the pilot and that, next time, we will support a Colombian business that has international expansion plans. The fact that Yunus is also present in Colombia will certainly help with that,' says Luciano Gurgel, Investment Officer at Yunus Negócios Sociais.

'We understand that social business entrepreneurship is one of the tools to strengthen ties between Brazil and Colombia. Getting to know Yunus and identifying the synergies between the institutions and the many possibilities to leverage the results brought even more meaning to our partnership, which we want to see reflected both here in Brazil and in Colombia. This is just the first step', says Fernando Rojas, AISCE´s President.
