ISA CTEEP invests R$ 46 million in improvements in the energy transmission grid in Vale do Paraíba and North Coast of São Paulo
Project at the Taubaté substation ensures more quality and safety in the energy supply to the region

Sao Paulo, April 5, 2021 - ISA CTEEP, the largest private electricity transmission company in the country, carried out reinforcement works at the Taubaté substation, in the countryside of the state of São Paulo. The company invested R$ 46 million in a new autotransformer bank with 1,200 MVA of power, which will provide more safety and flexibility to the electric grid that serves the region of the Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast of São Paulo. Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP) is R$ R$ 13.3 million in the 2020/2021 cycle.

'Currently, we are responsible for 94% of all energy transmitted in the state of São Paulo. For this reason, we have carried out a series of improvements and reinforcements in the transmission system, within our purpose of generating sustainable value for society and contributing to the robust delivery of the service to the Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast of São Paulo', says Gabriela Desiré, executive officer of operations at ISA CTEEP.

With a structured asset management program that allows the identification and prioritization of activities and reinforcements in an appropriate manner, more than 1,000 pieces of equipment have already been replaced. In 2020 alone, ISA CTEEP invested R$ 231 million in the modernization of assets, representing an increase of 74% over the last year.

The renewal plan, initiated in 2019, will continue on a permanent basis in 2021, contributing to the greater reliability of the National Interconnected System (SIN). The company has already received the National Agency of Electric Energy (ANEEL) authorization for other 277 projects, with an estimated investment of R$ 1.5 billion. The expectation is to energize half of the pipeline throughout 2021.
