ISA CTEEP releases 2020 Sustainability Report
Prepared in compliance with GRI standards, the document highlights the company's results and actions in fulfilling its purpose of creating sustainable value

São Paulo, March 22, 2021 - ISA CTEEP, the largest private electric power transmission company in the country, released its 2020 Annual Sustainability Report, which provides detailed and transparent information on the main economic, financial, environmental and social results achieved throughout the year. The document is prepared in compliance with GRI Standards (Global Reporting Initiative) and, for the fourth time, meets the Integrated Reporting principles of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). The data is assured by an independent external audit, ensuring the suitability of the information.

The Report highlights the company's purpose in creating sustainable value, even in an atypical year. 'This year's edition has a special feature compared to those published in previous years. The Report further reflects the commitment and unity of our team in ensuring the continuity of our business, without neglecting our social and environmental responsibility', says Rui Chammas, the company's CEO.
2020 Sustainability Report: access

Committed to its social and environmental responsibility, the company has the Connection Jaguar, a sustainability program of the ISA Group, which supports conservation and local development initiatives, considered the best corporate program of emission offset by the Environmental Finance Awards ranking. In addition, through actions in all its facilities, the company, promotes measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.

For example, in 2020, through specific maintenance actions, in addition to improving the techniques applied in the annual asset maintenance plan, the company reduced more than 8% the emission of SF6, a gas impacting the greenhouse effect, which is key for the electrical sector. This year, the transmission company will adopt an online SF6 regeneration machine in armored substations, which, in addition to further reducing emissions, will provide gains with less unavailability and tighter control of asset performance.

2020 impacting actions

- Social investment: R$ 19 million in initiatives for society and the environment, such as the allocation of R$ 5 million in funds to Fiocruz in order to leverage the manufacture of rapid test kits, for the construction of the Multi-Purpose Center for Vaccine Production, of Butantan Institute; and to support the 'Saving Lives Matchfunding' campaign, created by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), with donations from its employees.

- Diversity: renewed executive board and 40% made up of women. The company also included race and gender indicators in the selection process of the internship program. Of the total of more than 3,600 candidates, 47% of finalists were women. A strategic partnership was also entered into with Mais Diversidade (More Diversity), the largest consultancy firm specialized in diversity and inclusion in Latin America, which will ensure higher speed in the development of the theme for this year, which should also be headed by men, towards a more diverse and inclusive company.

- Sustainable Growth: Last year, the company contributed R$ 1.3 billion in investments, a 69% increase versus 2019, mostly allocated to greenfield projects - around R$ 1.1 billion, which are key for the flow of electricity from renewable sources in the country, contributing to a low-carbon economy.

- Innovation: a total of R$ 14.2 million was invested in 12 projects - three already delivered. The goal is to contribute to the projects under construction, to the operation, and to the technological development and sustainability of the company.

- Protection and training of employees: home office was stablished for all administrative employees early in the pandemic. In the operational and regional areas, a number of employees was assigned to carry out on-site activities and camps with a 15-day rotation among professionals, with the aim of not impacting operations and ensuring the continuity of energy supply to society. The company hired an epidemiologist and medical professionals; provided an application for the daily monitoring of the health status of all professionals and made about 4 thousand tests in the field teams that worked based in the Control Centers and Substations;

The company also created a project for dissemination of training and qualification actions for employees, in a virtual environment, which enabled more than 5,000 attendances in webinars and webcasts carried out on a weekly basis, reaching 69 thousand hours of training. The company also invested R$ 948 thousand in training and development of its employees.
