CTP's first distribution centre in the Netherlands has been delivered to R&M Forwarding at business park Nieuw Reijerwaard, Rotterdam, part of Dutch Fresh Port.

Amsterdam, 15 June, 2022 - CTP, Continental Europe's largest listed owner, developer and manager of logistics and industrial real estate by gross lettable area (GLA), has delivered its first distribution centre in the Netherlands to tenant R&M Forwarding. The company's fruit storage and shipment centre in CTPark Rotterdam is located at Nieuw Reijerwaard business park, part of the Dutch Fresh Port area to the southeast of the city. Dutch Fresh Port accounts for 25% of Dutch exports in fresh agricultural and food products.

Ralph de Munnik, Country Head CTP Nederlands said:

"CTP started operations in the Dutch market last year and we have now completed the first major step in the expansion of the CTP network in the Netherlands with the delivery of this distribution centre to our customer R&M Forwarding. But this is only the beginning of our ambitious growth plans. In November, we will deliver Amsterdam Logistic Cityhub the first XXL multi-storey logistics city hub in the Netherlands covering a total GLA of 120,000 square metres."

The first distribution centre at CTPark Rotterdam has a total GLA of 23,000 square metres and features including a built-in climate control system, eight separate cold stores and 35 loading docks.

Nieuw Reijerwaard is an area development involving the municipalities of Barendrecht, Ridderkerk and Rotterdam and is located in Dutch Fresh Port, the largest agri-fresh-food logistics hub in the Netherlands, with direct connections to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, as well as to the nearby airports of Schiphol and Eindhoven. CTP has plans for future logistics developments in this prime logistics market.

The business park will feature three wind turbines and a bio-digester that produces biogas from the fruit and vegetable waste of nearby businesses and is capable of supplying around 17,000 households with sustainably generated energy. Recycled asphalt was also used in the construction of Nieuw Reijerwaard's access road, saving energy and CO2 emissions. A sewage system has been installed under the area to separate wastewater, rainwater and processed water, which reduces the demands on the purification system. The site will be landscaped to encourage biodiversity and all roofs will be fitted with solar panels. This includes CTPark Rotterdam to supply renewable energy directly to R&M Forwarding.
