March 26, 2013 For Immediate Release Cummins Opens Phaltan Midrange Upfit Center The Center is the Fifth Facility to Open at the Megasite Phaltan, INDIA - Today, Cummins in India, the leading manufacturer of engines, generator sets and related components and technologies, opened the Phaltan Midrange Upfit Center (PMUC)

at the Cummins Megasite in Phaltan. This is the fifth facility of the Cummins Group at the
Megasite.
The Upfit Center has been established to assemble, upfit, test and paint diesel and gas engines, both mechanical and electronic, of B and L series. Additionally, the facility will also manufacture C series engines. This entire range will cater to the power generation and industrial businesses of Cummins along with highway applications.
This state-of -the-art facility spans seven acres and is designed to manufacture 80 engines per day in two shifts, with the ability to expand capacity to meet future demands requiring minimal investment. The Center will employ approximately 155 employees.
