Cydsa, S.A.B. De C.V. Announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was MXN 2,838.563 million compared to MXN 2,582.107 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 411.365 million compared to MXN 518.795 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 31.492 million compared to MXN 228.706 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was MXN 0.05 compared to MXN 0.38 a year ago. For the half year, sales was MXN 5,425.742 million compared to MXN 5,124.985 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 784.324 million compared to MXN 1,028.685 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 108.644 million compared to MXN 497.043 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was MXN 0.18 compared to MXN 0.83 a year ago.
Cydsa SAB de CV (Cydsa) is a Mexico-based holding company engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the industrial sector. The Company's business is structured in two divisions: Chemicals and Yarns. The Chemicals Division comprises the production and distribution of such chemicals as refined edible salts, industrial salts, caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite and refrigerant gasses, among others. The Yarns Division mainly specializes in the manufacture and sale of acrylic and cotton threads and fibers for the textile industry. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Valores Quimicos SA de CV, Sales del Istmo SA de CV, Industria Quimica del Istmo SA de CV and Quimobasicos SA de CV, among others. In February 2013, the Company created a new area of business: Real Estate Development, which aims to identify, develop and capitalize opportunities in the field of real estate development.
