ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ D.R. Horton Inc. (DHI) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $1.14 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Arlington, Texas-based company said it had net income of $3.17.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 19 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.80 per share.

The homebuilder posted revenue of $7.05 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Fourteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.75 billion.

D.R. Horton expects full-year revenue in the range of $34.5 billion to $35.5 billion.
