Dabur India Ltd.'s second-quarter net profit rose 20%, backed by higher demand for the company's health-care, hygiene and nutrition products.

The Indian consumer-goods company said Tuesday that net profit for the quarter ended September was 4.82 billion rupees ($64.7 million), up from INR4.03 billion a year ago.

Revenue rose 14% to INR25.16 billion. The company's health-care businesses, including immunity-boosting products, "continues to be the outperformer," it said. Its domestic-foods business was supported by in-home consumption returning to near-normal levels but was also affected by the continued closure of hotels and restaurants amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Dabur India said.

The company declared an interim dividend of INR1.75 a share.

Dabur India said it expects a favorable monsoon season and new government stimulus to drive further rural demand in the coming months.
