Stuttgart. The large-scale summer programme 'Urban culture at the Mercedes-Benz Museum' with around 100 events up to 26 September 2021 has received an excellent response since its launch in mid-June: in the first four weeks, more than 18,000 guests attended concerts and cabaret, theatre and comedy, European Championship public screening and, of course, the 'Classics & Coffee' meets.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum developed the new 'Urban culture at the Mercedes-Benz Museum' format specifically for 2021. With the open-air stage and the areas around the Museum, it offers artists, theatres, clubs, associations and other partners venues for COVID-19-compliant performances, including the necessary infrastructure.

Besides the events organised by the cooperation partners, the 'Classics & Coffee' meets at the Museum have proved to be a particularly popular attraction for visitors: when the weather is fine, several hundred vehicles of various makes can regularly be seen at and around the Mercedes-Benz Museum, especially on Sundays.

The varied programme continues into August

August 2021 will, once again, offer the full range of music, dance, comedy, poetry slam and more as part of the 'Urban culture at the Mercedes-Benz Museum' series of events. All the event details here: www.mercedes-benz.com/stadtkultur.

In addition to the events staged by the cooperation partners, there are the Museum's own programmes: next month's events will also include the regular classic car meets, a travelogue by world traveller Gunther Holtorf, public screening of the Formula E season finale, the 'Museumskids Open Air' children's programme and a concert by Dane Drewis.

'Classics & Coffee' and 'Stars under the stars'

The popular car meets 'Classics & Coffee' and 'Stars under the stars' at the Mercedes-Benz Museum will take place three times each week in 2021. The meet for drivers of classic cars of all makes, 'Classics & Coffee', takes place every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. and all day on Sundays at the Museum. In addition, the 'Stars under the stars' format for drivers of Mercedes-Benz cars takes place on Friday evenings from 6 p.m. onwards. Participation in the events and attendance as a spectator are free of charge and do not require registration.

Around the world in 26 years

On 1 August 2021 at 1 p.m., globetrotter Gunther Holtorf will be reporting on a unique adventure: together with his wife Christine, he has travelled to 215 countries and territories worldwide in 26 years in his Mercedes-Benz G-Class, 'Otto'. Desert crossings are as much a part of Holtorf's memories as being the first foreign vehicle to pass through North Korea and a journey along the Amazon from Peru to Brazil. Admission to Gunther Holtorf's travel presentation costs 15 euros: https://museum-ticket.mercedes-benz.com/.

Electrifying motor racing

Motorsport fans will be able to watch the thrilling season finale of the Formula E World Championship on 14 August at 2 p.m. and on 15 August at 3.30 p.m. during public screenings at the Mercedes-Benz Museum on the 45-square-metre LED screen. To accompany the event, the Museum will be displaying a Formula E show car in the atrium. In the all-electric Formula E racing series, 24 drivers from twelve teams compete against each other for the world championship. This is the second season for the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team. The series is held in major cities around the world, with the 2021 season finale featuring two races in Berlin at the former Tempelhof airfield. Berlin has hosted the Formula E every year since its first season in 2014/2015. This racing series is intended to set an example to promote e-mobility. A visit to the public screening event is free of charge, but registration via online ticketing is nevertheless necessary: https://museum-ticket.mercedes-benz.com/.

Great programme for young visitors

The free-of-charge 'Museumskids Open Air' children's programme for families with children aged 4-10 will be held on 18, 20, 25, and 27 August 2021. The programme offers entertaining films, tricky quizzes and creative hands-on activities. The aim is to enable young visitors (always accompanied by an adult, please) to intuitively learn about the fascinating world of the Mercedes-Benz Museum from the invention of the car through to the future and thrill them with insights into technology and design. Beach music at the Museum

Singer Dane Drewis will be making a guest appearance at the Mercedes-Benz Museum to kick off his European tour on 27 August 2021 at 8 p.m. With his refreshing approach to Californian beach music, he is sure to enthral his audience.
