Daimler Truck announced on Tuesday that it sold 460,409 trucks and buses last year, down 12% on the 526,053 vehicles it sold in 2023.
In detail, the manufacturer reports that sales of trucks in North America fell by 2%, those in Asia by 22%, while sales of trucks marketed under the Mercedes-Benz brand dropped by 20%.
Sales of Daimler buses rose by 2%, while those of electric vehicles increased by 17%, from 3,443 to 4,035 units.
Mercedes-Benz announced this morning that it had received its largest ever order for electric trucks from Amazon, with the American online retail giant deciding to purchase more than 200 eActros 600s.
Following this announcement, Daimler Truck shares rose by 1.8% on Tuesday morning on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, one of the strongest gains on the DAX index.
