Fushun special steel orders Danieli super alloys rolling mill

The new mill will produce top-quality bars, wirerod, and flat for demanding applications

Chinese special steel and superalloy leader Fushun Special Steel, contracted Danieli for the supply of new long-product rolling mill for top-quality products.

To be installed in, Fushun city, Liaoning province, the mill has been designed to guarantee the tightest tolerances (0.1 mm on 5,5-mm-dia wire rod), fine grain size and wide mechanical properties.

High product quality and high material yield will be achieved through strict process control and fully integrated Danieli Automation system.

The new Fushun Special Steel plant, entirely supplied by Danieli, will produce 80 Mtpy of special steel and super alloy bars from 8 to 98 mm, wirerod from 5,5 to 25 mm flats from 32x6 to 65x40 and from 65x6 to 105x10 mmThe main equipment of the bar and flats rolling mill consists of a shiftable breakdown mill, twenty GCC housingless stands in vertical, horizontal and convertible configuration. The wirerod mill will feature a 6-passes pre-finishing block, a TMB multidrive and a laying head equipped with oil-film bearing rotor.

With present steel capacity 950,000 tpy, Fushun Special Steel (Shagang Group), occupies more than 80% of domestic market share for superalloy and 95% for ultra-high strength steel in aerospace and aviation field.

Fushun Special Steel, is known as the cradle of China's special steel, where was super alloy, high-strength steel, stainless steel, roller bearing steel, high-speed tool steel were first cast and rolled of China, since 1937.
