The 49th edition of the Cerny - La Ferté-Alais air show, one of the oldest and most famous in France, will be held this year on the weekend of June 4 and 5. The program will be another rich one.
The 49th edition of the Cerny - La Ferté-Alais air show, one of the oldest and most famous in France, will be held this year on the weekend of June 4 and 5. The program will be another rich one.
For almost half a century, the Ferté-Alais air show has been organizing a true celebration with an air of nostalgia, involving many aircraft dating from the early days of aviation. For this traditional Whit holiday event, of which Dassault is a partner, the organizers have once again pulled out all the stops to light up the skies of the Essonne department. About a hundred vintage aircraft are lined up for the event, along with a VIP village, an exhibitors' village, and more.
In order to optimally showcase all these aircraft, the event is divided into several categories. These include: "The early days of aviation" (Caudron G3, Morane H), "14-18 Re-enactment" (with the presence of two Fokkers), "Between the Wars", "Tora Tora Tora" (with a re-enactment of Pearl Harbor), "World War II" (with Spitfires, Junkers, etc.), "Transportation" (Dassault MD 311 Flamant, Douglas C-47), "Vietnam" (with several North American aircraft), "Air and Space Force" (Alphajet from the Patrouille de France, Rafale Solo Display), "Navy" (Dassault Rafale, Grumman, Bréguet, etc.).
Not forgetting several noteworthy attractions, such as a photo contest, shows (including pyrotechnic displays), autograph sessions, vintage motorcycle parades and historical re-enactments. In all, some 40,000 spectators are expected to attend over the two days! All this while looking forward to the 50th edition of the event in 2023, when its half-century is due to be commemorated in fitting style.
