The Student Aerospace Challenge, organized by the European Astronaut Club (ACE) and its industrial and corporate partners (ArianeGroup, Dassault Aviation, the European Space Agency, and the French Air and Space Museum), is an opportunity for students to make contributions to research on a manned reusable suborbital vehicle. It will be designed for local flights or for ultra-fast long-range flights. To date, 1,074 students divided into 221 teams have joined in the competition created in 2006.

Once again this year, we are pleased to offer students in higher education the opportunity to form teams of 2 to 5 participants and to take part in a project that is both meaningful and multidisciplinary (technical, medical, legal studies, etc.). Not to mention that this sector is rapidly developing, with the first commercial suborbital flights being carried out. You will be able to put your knowledge into practice as part of a research project (integrated into your curriculum or in addition to it) in a rapidly developing field.

As part of the 16th edition, the proposed topics include:
• WP1: Applications;
• WP2: Promotion/communication on suborbital flights;
• WP3: Legal framework;
• WP4: Medicine;
• WP5: Reusable propulsion/maintenance;
• WP6: History of suborbital flights;
• WP7: Market analysis;
• WP8: Structure suitable for suborbital flight;
• WP9: Aerodynamics and flight quality;
• WP10: Airworthiness;
• WP11: Mission profile and concept;
• WP12: Infrastructure for the supply of rocket fuels;
• WP13: Commercial operation.

The competition will end on June 23, 2022 with "Suborbital Day": an event featuring meetings and discussions between students and Partners organized as a symposium. Each team will have 15 minutes to present their work (including time for questions/answers). Awards will be given to the best projects.

Mark your calendars, registration is open through October 31, 2021.
