ANNOUNCEMENT ON POWER GENERATION

FOR THE FIRST THREE QUARTERS OF 2019

SPECIAL NOTICE

The board of directors and all directors of the Company warrant that there are no false representations and misleading statements contained in, or material omissions from this announcement, and severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of the contents of this announcement.

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that, according to the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 September 2019, the total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries amounted to approximately 196.1743 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 3% on a year-on-year basis, and total on-grid power generation amounted to approximately 185.2814 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 2.91% on a year-on-year basis.

The major reasons for the decrease in power generation of the Company are as follows:

1. The growth of the national overall power consumption declined significantly as compared to the corresponding period of last year;
2. Hydropower, wind power and nuclear power generation showed remarkable growth, crowding out the space for growth in thermal power generation; and
3. The volume of power generation experienced a larger negative growth in Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan, Guangdong, Zhejiang and other regions due to factors which included a decline in demand for power and an increase in power supply from external sources.

As of 30 September 2019, the average on-grid tariff of the Company was RMB378.16 per MWh (inclusive of tax).
