DEBENHAMS TO OPEN DOORS IN AUGUST

- Debenhams announces multi million pound investment in Stevenage with new store.

With the anticipation of one of the UK's most renowned department stores coming to Stevenage heating up, Debenhams can reveal that more than 80 positions are up for grabs at the new store.

The 80,000 sq ft Debenhams store, which is opening at Roaring Meg Retail & Leisure Park in August, is in the process of recruiting a fantastic team of 80 people from the local area. Local shoppers can expect to get their hands on Debenhams' exclusive ranges from designers such as J by Jasper Conran, Star by Julien MacDonald, No1. By Jenny Packham and Studio by Preen, as well as a fantastic beauty hall including well-known brands.

Debenhams Stevenage will have extensive home, women's, men's and kids wear ranges, which will include bridal, and access to the store's fantastic personal shopping team.

The store's newly appointed manager, Gail Chandler, is thrilled with the phenomenal response to opening and the jobs on offer.

Gail said: 'We've had a fantastic response to the recruitment drive for our new Stevenage store, with lots of interest in the careers on offer. 'Those that are successful and chosen to work at our Stevenage store will receive five weeks' introductory training, in addition to continual development throughout their career, all to ensure they have the very best skills and are developed to their full potential.

'The team and I can't wait to open our doors in August, and look forward to welcoming the Stevenage community in to store.'

Debenhams Stevenage will be a part of the brand new plaza that has been built at Roaring Meg Retail and Leisure Park. The new plaza will also provide a promotional and community space which local groups will be invited to use, and which it is hoped will make this space the central hub of the scheme which is due to complete its redevelopment in Autumn 2017.
