For four days, the culmination of which was the race on Sunday, 23 June, the Formula 1 World Championship was held at the Paul Ricard du Castellet (83) track for the 60th French Grand Prix, attracting 135 000 spectators.

This year, the organizers, working closely with the authorities and security forces, wished to innovate by bringing in Delta Drone ISS to set up several tethered drones reporting in real time to the COD (Departmental Command Center). This system was mainly deployed to manage visitor flow around the track, but it also allowed the security forces to stay better apprised of any incidents that might have happened requiring their intervention.

Commenting on this new assignment, Didier Ferrara, head of Delta Drone's ISS department, said, "A Formula 1 Grand Prix is a major event and always highly publicized, requiring special security measures. Once again, after the Ferté-Alais Air Show, the Bol d'or, the Ryder Cup and the Paris Peace Forum, Delta Drone proved itself, working alongside the significant forces involved, both private and public, to ensure a successful event.
