Despegar.com, Corp. (NYSE:DESP) acquired 84% stake in KOIN Administradora de Cartões e Meios de Pagamento Ltda. for BRL 20 million on August 20, 2020. The acquisition was made with the capitalization of receivables from Decolar.com, Despegar’s Brazilian subsidiary for a total of BRL 20 million. As part of the acquisition, Despegar also has a call option to purchase the remaining stake in Koin and minority shareholders have a put option to sell their stake.
