Roland Rapelius heads Investor Relations / Thomas Franke is responsible for Corporate Communications

Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) is restructuring its communications functions vis-à-vis different stakeholder groups by splitting the former Public Relations & Investor Relations department: Thomas Franke (56), who has headed the department since 2001, will, as Head of Corporate Communications, coordinate and be responsible for all activities concerning DBAG's external and internal corporate communications. As of 1 April 2021, Roland Rapelius (CFA, 52) will be the new Head of Investor Relations. In addition to regular financial reporting, his tasks will primarily include extending, maintaining and managing relationships with investors and analysts.

'We want to communicate our business model - which is particularly attractive in a low interest rate environment - even better to the capital markets', said CFO Susanne Zeidler, commenting on the change, adding that 'with Mr Rapelius, DBAG is delighted to have attracted such an experienced analyst.' Roland Rapelius has worked as an analyst for small caps and midcaps, holding various management positions at banks such as Berenberg Bank and M.M. Warburg & Co., since 2002. Having covered the DBAG share as an analyst, he joined DBAG at the beginning of 2020.

Splitting the department allows DBAG to allocate more personnel resources to Corporate Communications. 'We want to leverage the opportunities offered by new media even better in our communications', said Torsten Grede, Spokesman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG. 'Mr Franke will use his long-standing experience to create additional interesting and exclusive content, tailored to the target group', Grede added. He concluded: 'We wish both of them much success in their new roles.'
