Logistics company Deutsche Post AG on Wednesday reached a collective bargaining agreement for postal employees with German union Verdi.

Deutsche Post said the agreement will run until the end of 2022 and includes pay increases as well as long-term job security.

It will cover around 140,000 employees, who will see their salaries and wages rise by 3% on Jan. 1 next year and an additional 2% on Jan. 1 2022. For trainees, pay will increase by a total of 90 euros ($105.38) a month during the same two stages.

Under the agreement, full-time employees will also get a one-time payout of EUR300 and part-time staff and trainees will receive EUR150 in November.

The German company and the union also agreed to avoid forced redundancies until the end of 2023.
