The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority is inviting comments from interested parties into DHL eCommerce UK's merger with U.K parcel delivery company Evri.

The regulator said Wednesday that it is considering whether the deal will result in a lessening of competition within its markets. It added that the invitation to comment is part of the CMA's information-gathering process and that a formal investigation hasn't been opened.

The German logistics group said on May 14 that it was buying a significant minority stake in Evri group with multiple options to strengthen ties. Financial details weren't disclosed.

The merged business is poised to deliver more than 1 billion parcels and a further 1 billion business letters annually, DHL said at the time.

If the deal proceeds Evri will retain its core branding and will operate under Evri Premium, a network of DHL eCommerce, it said in May.
