Dollar General : offers discount for teachers

07/23/2019 | 10:25am EST

Given Dollar General's continued focus on literacy and education, Dollar General understands the important role that teachers play in students' lives and education journeys. To further demonstrate this commitment, this back to school season, Dollar General is offering teachers 20 percent off qualifying stationery items. The discount is available to teachers now through September 7, 2019 with a valid school ID at more than 15,500 locations across 44 states.

Dollar General is also offering Digital Coupon subscribers the chance to save $5 off any $15 or more qualifying purchase on select back to school items available now through September 7. To sign up for Dollar General's Digital Coupons Program, which helps to provide customers with an easy-to-use platform and digital coupons, click here, visit www.dollargeneral.com/coupons or access coupons on the Dollar General mobile app. Customers can load coupons to the account and redeem at checkout.

Additional savings may be discovered by shopping private brands like DG™ office, DG™ health and DG™ home that offer essentials like notebooks, binders, writing utensils, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and much more. Find all the back to school items at a wallet-friendly price without sacrificing quality.

Dollar General gives its customers more than everyday low prices on merchandise as part of its mission of Serving Others. Dollar General is deeply involved in the communities it serves and is an ardent supporter of literacy and education. At the cash register of every Dollar General store, customers interested in learning how to read, speak English or prepare for their high school equivalency test can pick up a brochure with a postage-paid reply card that can be mailed in for a referral to a local organization that offers free literacy services.

Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $168 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, helping more than 10 million individuals take their first steps toward literacy or continued education. For more information about the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and its grant programs, visit www.dgliteracy.com.
