MIDLAND, Mich. - May 08, 2017 -Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) received the Margaret A. Riecker Meritorious Service Award from the Midland County Republicans at the organization's Annual Dave Camp Breakfast in Midland. The Award recognizes Liveris's leadership of U.S. President Donald J. Trump's Manufacturing Jobs Initiative as well as his bold leadership of Dow and his support for the Great Lakes Bay community.

'It is an honor to receive an award appropriately named after Ranny, a great friend to this community - and to me personally - and a role model for all of us,' said Liveris. 'I'm proud to represent Dow, our community and our employees in Washington, D.C. because I believe so strongly in the opportunity we have as a region and as a nation to revitalize our manufacturing sector and create great job and economic opportunities.'

The Margaret Ann (Ranny) Riecker Meritorious Service Award was established by the Midland County Republican Party in 1990. It was created to annually honor a Midland Republican in recognition of distinguished service and outstanding support of Republican campaigns. The award is named for Ranny Riecker, who was not only the first recipient but also the inspiration.

In December, President Trump appointed Liveris to lead the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative, which has the goal of increasing the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing. Liveris has been a leading voice and advocate on how to revive America's economic engine. Most recently through his work with the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative, Liveris has focused on sharing ideas with the Trump Administration on how to scale national workforce training programs to create a 21st century workforce. Liveris is the author of Make It in America, a book which presents a comprehensive set of practical policy solutions and business strategies to drive a domestic manufacturing base that supports a solid, high-achieving middle-class and a healthy, thriving U.S. economy.

'In honor of Ranny's dedicated service to the Republican Party, the award bearing her name is the highest honor bestowed by the Midland County Republican Party,' said Cathy Leikhim, chair, Midland County Republicans. 'We are pleased to present the Margaret Ann Riecker Meritorious Service Award to Andrew, in appreciation for his leadership, vision and commitment to our community and to the nation.'
