Deutsche Bahn expects sharply lower operating profit after selling Schenker - Reuters

Deutsche Bahn expects its operating profit to fall by around 70 percent between this year and next year after it sells Schenker, according to documents obtained by Reuters.
According to the documents, Deutsche Bahn expects an operating profit of EUR 700 million this year including Schenker. In 2025, a profit of EUR 200 million is expected, which is after the sale has taken place.
It is the Danish DSV that buys Schenker for 14.3 billion euros.
DSV A/S specializes in transportation services. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- organization and management of air and sea transportation (62.2%);
- road transportation (22.6%);
- logistics services (15%): storage, packaging, loading dock transfer (reshipment of merchandise without storage), and distribution services intended primarily for industrial customers;
- other (0.2%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Denmark (8.7%), the United States (16.9%), Germany (8.1%), China (4.1%), the United Kingdom (3.9%), and other (58.3%).
