Duke Energy Corp. has promoted Sharene Pierce to be its next chief diversity and inclusion officer, starting on Dec. 1.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based electric power and natural gas holding company said Monday that Ms. Pierce will succeed Cameron McDonald, who is moving to a new leadership role.

Ms. Pierce joined the company in 2000 and has served in various leadership positions, leading to her current post as vice president of customer experience and services operational transformation.

Duke Energy said that Abby Motsinger has been tapped to succeed as vice president of investor relations from Jack Sullivan, who is leaving for another job.
