ERSE announces electricity tariffs for 2023

Lisbon, December 15th, 2022:The Portuguese Electricity Regulator ("ERSE") released today the final document regarding electricity tariffs and prices in Portugal for 2023. The final document introduces the following changes, when compared to the proposal presented by ERSE last October 17th, and disclosed to the market by EDP Energias de Portugal, S.A ("EDP"):

  1. Reduction in the average purchase cost in wholesale electricity market for the supply of regulated clients to €223.4/MWh for 2023, versus the €262.1/MWh considered in the proposal from October.
  2. An increase of 3.3% in end users' regulated electricity tariffs for 2023 in the normal low voltage (NLV) segment, compared to the year 2022 average, versus the 2.8% increase announced in October. This includes residentials and SMEs electricity consumers.

This information is disclosed pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
