Eiffage won in consortium the second phase of the renovation

of the National Danse Theatre at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris (France),

in a contract worth almost €40 million

Eiffage, through its subsidiaries Eiffage Construction and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, won in consortium the contract awarded by Chaillot - Théâtre National de la Danse to carry out the second phase of work on the Theatre. Eiffage's share of this almost €40 million contract is €36 million. This work is part of the project to restore the Palais de Chaillot, a listed historical monument in the Art Deco style located in Paris.

The consortium - which also includes Clé Millet, an architectural firm, the engineering firm BETEM and scenographer Thierry Guignard - has completed the modernisation programme, functional review and redisizing work that are necessary to provide an adequate scenographic environment.

The works, which are conducted by Eiffage Construction, the consortium leader, will involve a total surface area of 8,900 sq.m and seven floors. The main objective of which is be to renovate and bring up to standard the Jean Vilar hall, which is located under the Place du Trocadéro and has a capacity of 1,200 seats, along with its equipment rooms, dressing rooms and offices. The project also includes the construction of a new 380 sq.m rehearsal studio.

Under the aegis of the French government's economic recovery plan, the project has specific energy, environmental and technical performance requirements. Eiffage Énergie Systèmes - which is in charge of the high and low voltage systems and the audiovisual equipment for the stage area - will contribute to improve the building performance and to enhance the Jean Vilar hall.

This project's second phase, which is also the most important, will be conducted on an occupied site in the heart of the capital in conjunction with the various events planned for the Paris Games. After a year dedicated to project planning and design work in 2022, the renovation work will start in January 2023 and will be temporarily suspended from time to time to ensure that the project does not interfere with the competitions. Its completion is planned for the end of 2025 and will result in one of Europe's most technically advanced and modern theatre.
