Walloon Airports Company SOWAER in charge of developing airport infrastructure in Liège and Charleroi has entrusted Eiffage Yvan Paque with part of the extension works on Liège Airport's northern cargo area. Our Belgian subsidiary specializes in electrical, electronic and electromechanical facilities for transport infrastructure and heritage.

The SOWAER has decided to create 6 new aircraft stands and extend the area dedicated to the Delta taxiway, in order to develop Liège Airport's cargo area capacity (mainly to meet the logistics needs of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group).

Our employees are leaders of Lot 2 'Special techniques' of the second phase of the project, and have carried out the high and low voltage electrical connections throughout the site. They also handled the lighting system, wiring up the lights and transformers to enable the regulation and remote control of aircraft, and installed the aircraft docking assistance system and parking identification signs. The works included installing and commissioning remote monitoring, CCTV, access control, and the fire detection and telecoms systems. In addition, our experts put in a generating set ('no-break' power system) and went on to equip the service ducts.

These works were undertaken between January 2019 and July 2020, at the same time as the construction of the airport hub and the development of fuel supply facilities.
