MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) _ Elastic NV (ESTC) on Thursday reported a loss of $56.7 million in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Mountain View, California-based company said it had a loss of 61 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 12 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 22 cents per share.

The software developer posted revenue of $223.9 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $208.7 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, Elastic expects its results to range from a loss of 24 cents per share to a loss of 20 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $230 million to $232 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Elastic expects full-year results to range from a loss of 42 cents per share to a loss of 38 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $853 million to $855 million.
