Producers out in force for Elders FarmFest 2022 Now in its 47th year running, Elders FarmFest was again a resounding success with over 60,000 visitors venturing out to the event, despite the winter cold snap.

Returning as major sponsors of this iconic field day, the largest of its kind in Queensland, Elders also presented an exhibitor display that proved to be very popular with visitors and clients alike.

Demand for new livestock equipment is at a record high, despite supply pressure

Even with the weather not exceeding 10°C for most of the event, visitors were not deterred and continued to roll through the gates at the site, located out at Kingsthorpe, 20 km north-west of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs.

State rural products specialist, Rick Price, commented that the Elders team had experienced an increase in demand for animal management products and larger infrastructure orders; including fencing and cattle handling equipment.

"Despite some of the lead times our industry is seeing at the moment, demand for quality products, upgrades and new items was really obvious at this event," he said.

"And it hasn't just been from our Elders clients alone. We proudly welcomed visitors from far and wide who were looking for support in the lead up to end of financial year."

"That's the beauty of a company like Elders, we can offer such a wide range at a really competitive price - even at a field day."

Rural products sales representative, Jessie Smith, learning the ropes with the local team at Elders FarmFest 2022

There was plenty of energy to be found at the Elders FarmFest event throughout the week, with staff travelling to support from all over the state.

Rural products sales representative, Jessie Smith, pictured above, was one of the friendly faces helping customers throughout the event, travelling all the way from Quilpie in south-west Queensland.

"When the opportunity arose to come along and join the rest of the team at Elders FarmFest I immediately put my hand up to attend," Jessie explained.

"Elders take pride in supporting the next generation, so events like this are the perfect opportunity to learn directly from our suppliers and wider team."

"It's much colder than home! But I have enjoyed spending the week here at Elders FarmFest."

Known for their support of rural Australia, Elders were also fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service while at the event.

Local area manager, Ben Adams, who spent the week catching up with clients and staff, said he was happy to see the amount of support from visitors each day.

"Field days certainly still have a place in the future of agriculture, particularly when you consider the amount of new technology and innovation we are able to present to growers in-person," he commented.

"People love to speak to a friendly face when making those big decisions about their business."

"There is something truly valuable about having those conversations one-on-one and that's just one of the reasons why Elders will keep coming back to support events like FarmFest."

Elders would like to thank visitors to Elders FarmFest and welcome all back for the event in 2023.
