--Electricite de France SA must remain a "unique" group, offering nuclear, hydro and renewable energy services, its chief executive officer told French TV channel BFM Business ahead of the planned nationalization of the utility.

--EDF CEO Jean-Bernard Levy was responding to labor-union fears of a dismantling of the group following the planned retaking of a remaining minority stake not currently owned by the state. "We must keep a unique EDF...in the interests of the French energy and electricity system," Mr. Levy told BFM Business on Monday.

--The CEO will leave his post by the middle of March next year, with a new boss set to take the helm of the energy major by that point, EDF said last week.
