Electricite de France SA will distribute an interim dividend of 30 European cents ($0.35) a share this year, giving shareholders the option to pocket the payment in cash or in new shares.

The state-controlled French utility company said late Thursday that its board of directors had agreed to the amount of the distribution, setting Dec. 2 as the date for the payment in cash or delivery of shares.

The company set the share price for new shares to be issued as payment of the dividend at EUR11.12, with shareholders having until Nov. 26 to opt for a payment in shares.
