PARIS, Nov 5 (Reuters) - French utility EDF on Thursday extended outages at three nuclear reactors including the Flamanville 1 and 2 facilities for complex maintenance, while shortening the restart schedule for the Golfech 1 reactor.

EDF extended the outages at the Flamanville 1 reactor in the north of France until the end of January 2021, and the Flamanville 2 reactor until the end of this month.

The Flamanville reactors both have a production capacity of 1,300 megawatts (MW).

Flamanville 2, which has been offline for maintenance since Jan. 10, 2019, was previously expected to come online on Nov. 15, while Flamanville 1 - offline since Sept. 18, 2019 - was expected online on Dec. 15.

The company said that the outages were extended due to complex maintenance activities. This is the latest of several outage extensions for the pair of reactors.

In a statement in mid-October, the company said that the novel coronavirus has had a "relatively modest" impact on the Flamanville site.

It also extended the production shutdown at its 900 MW Tricastin 4 reactor by several days until Nov. 7, saying that it is a temporary shutdown to carry out maintenance on the alternator.

The Tricastin reactor was halted in July for scheduled maintenance then resumed production near the end of September. After shutting down on Nov. 3, the restart date has changed several times.

On the other hand, the 1,300 MW Golfech 1 reactor maintenance was going well, so the restart schedule was moved up nine days to Dec. 4, EDF said. (Reporting by Forrest Crellin; Editing by Alexandra Hudson)
