Elma - Interim Report at June 30, 2013

CH-Wetzikon, August 21, 2013 ? The Elma Group closed the first half of 2013 with an improved
result compared to the previous year. Although the economic environment was still challenging,
a recovery in customer demand was noticed in all three regions, resulting in an increased order
income by a total of 11.0% to CHF 62.8 million (previous year: CHF 56.6 million); adjusted for
currency translation effects, order income rose by 9.6%. Revenue remained largely constant
over the previous year. Closing at CHF 55.6 million (previous year: CHF 55.9 million), it
represents a small decrease of just 0.6%; adjusted for currency translation effects, revenue
declined by 1.8%. Elma improved its profitability in the first half of 2013, reaching an EBITDA of
CHF 2.1 million (previous year: CHF 1.8 million) and an EBIT of CHF 0.8 million (previous year:
CHF 0.6 million). Despite high tax charges in the USA the net income came almost to break-even
with CHF -0.1 million (previous year: loss of CHF -0.4 million).
