Revenue grows by 9.1% in local currencies – currency effects leave their mark

Wetzikon, October 14, 2011 – In the first nine months of the business year 2011, Elma posted consolidated revenue of CHF 90.1 million. Compared to the previous year, this represents an increase of 9.1% in local currencies and a decline of 5.6% in Swiss Francs. Thus, revenue in local currencies exceeded the previous year’s figures in all three regions. Currency translation effects also reduced the order income by 11.2% to CHF 87.0 million. Adjusted for currency translation effects, the order income went up by 2.6%.
All three regions increased their revenue in local currencies. However, after translation into Swiss Francs, Elma Group had to record a decline in revenue. By further expanding the system business, the Americas region gained more market share and increased its revenue in the first nine months by 14.5% (adjusted for currency translation effects), in Swiss Francs revenue declined by 5.9%. The Europe region also achieved growth in revenue of 3.8% (adjusted for currency translation effects), in Swiss Francs a decline of 3.6% had to be recorded.
