Embraer: Just Delivered - Our 1,700th E-Jet.

We reached another milestone in our E-Jets program today - the delivery of the 1,700th production airplane. The landmark aircraft, an E195-E2, will fly for KLM Cityhopper which is leasing the E-Jet from Aircastle.

It was more than 20 years ago that the first E-Jet, an E170, rolled out of the factory. Since then, some 150 airlines and leasing companies have added Embraer E-Jets to their fleets and asset portfolios.

In his address to guests at the delivery event in Sao Jose dos Campos, Embraer President and CEO Francisco Gomes attributed the longevity of the E-Jets program to the platform's versatility and to the continuous improvements to the aircraft family over the years.

For example, the second-generation of E-Jets incorporates new technologies that reduce fuel burn, streamline maintenance, and add smart features in the cockpit and cabin. Common crew type rating lets pilots move seamlessly between first and second generation E-Jet families.

KLM Cityhopper has a mixed fleet of 60 first and second-generation E-Jets, the largest in Europe. The airline's E195-E2 is configured with 132 seats in three zones - Business Class, Economy Comfort, and Economy Class - and is already compliant with future ICAO noise and emissions limits.
