Motodynamics bids farewell to Odysseas Kyriacopoulos

The Motodynamics family express our ineffable grief over the loss of our Honorary President, Odysseas Kyriacopoulos.

Odysseas Kyriacopoulos served as Chairman of the company from its establishment in 1993 until 2015, when he handed over to his son Paris. He remained a Board member until 2018 and was named Honorary Chairman. Of course, his professional involvement with the company dates much earlier, to 1982, through Iliopoulos Bros. Ltd, the family business which preceded Motodynamics SA. His engagement with the company's products had started even earlier, shortly after his adulthood, and remained an enthusiast of both two-wheelers and marine products throughout his life.

Dynamic and industrious, he firmly supported the long-term growth of the company, even in challenging times. Thus, Porsche (2011) and Sixt (2018) were added to Yamaha's strong historical base. Earlier, in 2005, the company's capital had been reinforced through its listing in the Athens Stock Exchange (2005).

Odysseas Kyriacopoulos was an innovative businessman, profoundly committed to modern management and human resource development. A socially generous person with sincere love for and contribution to education, as a founding member of the Alba Graduate Business School, and culture, as President of the Greek National Opera. An extrovert citizen of the world with insatiable benevolence for his home country, as demonstrated by his tenure in the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises.

Sotiris Hatzikos, Chief Executive Officer, stated: "For us, Odysseas was a charismatic leader. He was a constant source of inspiration and a compass in our business course, and will continue to be through his legacy, however difficult it will be to fill the void he left behind. On a personal level, in our long-standing cooperation, he honoured me with his guidance, support and trust, which have become the foundations of my professional life."

The wider family of Motodynamics express our deepest condolences to the family of Odysseas Kyriacopoulos.
