Empresas CMPC S.A. Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and First Six Months of Fiscal 2016

Empresas CMPC S.A. announced consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and first six months of fiscal 2016. For the quarter, the company announced sales was USD 1,189,952,000 compared to USD 1,183,662,000 for the same period a year ago. EBITDA was USD 221,425,000 compared to USD 216,174,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating income was USD 73,749,000 compared to USD 101,786,000 for the same period a year ago. Net income was USD 46,965,000 compared to USD 27,640,000 for the same period a year ago. Net cash flow from operating activities was USD 246,565,000 compared to USD 236,079,000 for the same period a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was USD 125,207,000 compared to USD 239,366,000 for the same period a year ago. Purchases of other long-term assets were USD 19,300,000 compared to USD 12,669,000 for the same period a year ago. Net debt was USD 3,620 million compared to USD 3,629 million for the same period a year ago. The year on year increase in EBITDA was driven by higher EBITDA in the Paper and Tissue divisions, offset by lower EBITDA in the Pulp-Forestry division, mainly due to lower pulp prices.
For the six months, the company announced sales was USD 2,349 million compared to USD 2,344 million for the same period a year ago. EBITDA was USD 482 million compared to USD 454 million for the same period a year ago. Net income was USD 107 million compared to net loss of USD 49 million for the same period a year ago. Capital expenditure was USD 254 million compared to USD 545 million for the same period a year ago.
Empresas CMPC SA is a Chile-based company primarily engaged in the paper products industry.
