• The agreement is at competitive prices and includes energy from renewable sources which reinforces the commitment to sustainability of both companies.

Endesa has reached a long-term agreement to supply renewable energy to Kronospan. In the current context of high volatility in wholesale electricity markets across Europe, the agreement ensures competitive prices for Kronospan for the next five years. The contract also introduces the supply of energy with renewable origin in Kronospan's energy mix which reinforces the commitment to sustainability of both companies.

Given the current complexity in the context of energy and regulatory markets, Endesa is continuing to work with its customers to find the solutions that best suit their needs.

The agreement, which involves the supply of 180 GWh of energy per year for the next five years, will enable Kronospan to meet the objectives established in its energy strategy, with a competitive solution that will also potentially enable it to become an electro-intensive consumer, as established in RD 1106/2020.

This agreement highlights Endesa's firm commitment to sustainability and its commitment to its customers and in this case to comply with Kronospan's decarbonisation plans, by supplying part of the energy from this contract with a guarantee of renewable origin.

For Juan José Muñoz Rueda, Endesa's B2B customer manager, "the agreement is a reflection of our promise to customers by helping them meet their objectives for competitiveness and energy sustainability. In this case, we have given Kronospan assessment on how to meet its three main energy objectives; A long-term competitive energy contract, strengthening its commitment to the environment and obtaining electro-intensive status, which will result in significant economic savings."

With this contract, Kronospan has strengthened its relationship with Endesa, which began in 2018. Last December, the link between the two companies reached another milestone when Kronospan agreed with Endesa X, Endesa's business line that provides innovative solutions for energy transition, the development of one of the most significant self-consumption projects in its sector and in Spain: Two photovoltaic plants with 7.45 MWp of power and 9.2 GWh of production in their production centres in Burgos and Salas.
