• The rollout of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is being carried out in the Luz del Tajo centres in Toledo; Valle Real in Santander; and Gran Casa, located in Zaragoza.
  • In all facilities, users will be able to choose between fast chargers that can charge 80% of the vehicle's battery in just 20 minutes with their 50kW; or if they have a little more time (about an hour), they can use semi-fast points (up to 22kw) to recover the same percentage of the battery.
  • Each centre will have an exclusive area where they can charge 6 vehicles simultaneously with certified renewable energy.
  • To use the chargers, all you have to do is download 'JuicePass' the Endesa X app, and customers will be able to manage their electric vehicle charging using their mobile phones: paying and booking up to 15 minutes in advance, etc.
  • As they are installed in shopping centre car parks, all chargers are publicly accessible and, in addition, universal, that is, any model of electric vehicle on the market can charge in them.

Endesa X and Sonae Sierra have reached an agreement to continue promoting electric mobility in our country and provide citizens with access to the electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with universal and public access chargers, wherever they go in their daily lives. Chargers for everyone and without changing habits.

Thanks to this collaboration, the installation of 18 charging points is planned in 3 of the shopping centres managed by Sonae Sierra: Luz del Tajo, in Toledo; Valle Real, in Santander and Gran Casa, in Zaragoza.

In all facilities, users will be able to choose between fast chargers that can charge 80% of the vehicle's battery in just 20 minutes with their 50kW; or if they have a little more time, they can use semi-fast points (up to 22kW) to recover almost the same percentage of the battery in about an hour.

All the installed charging infrastructure is publicly accessible, powered by certified renewable energy and, in addition, it is universal (any model of electric vehicle on the market can charge on it). Chargers will be available in the car parks of the shopping centres with 24-hour access in the case of Luz del Tajo and Valle Real, and in Gran Casa, from 10 am to midnight.

For Manuel Muñoz, head of the recharging infrastructure plan Endesa X, 'electric mobility must be within everyone's reach and that is the basis of our infrastructure deployment plan.. We want to democratise it, bring it closer to users, make it easy for those who want to make the leap to zero-emission driving. Finding great partners like Sonae Sierra means moving forward on this path in the fight against climate change, together, and with more strength, because it is a commitment of all of us.'

'At Sonae Sierra we are constantly evaluating and implementing initiatives that are compatible with our sustainable DNA and that allow us to add value to the visitors to the shopping centres we manage. Our agreement with Endesa is a clear example of the above, as once again we are improving the customer's experience by providing them with services that make their lives easier and that integrate perfectly with our commercial and leisure offer', says Enrique Suárez Tramón, Sonae Sierra Operations Director in Spain.

JuicePass: manage recharging from your mobile

To charge, all you have to do is install the Endesa application JuicePass on your mobile phone, which is available for free on IOS and Android and which allows you to register with your personal data or through Facebook or Google profiles, which offers economic advantages in terms of charge prices and also speeds up the process: access to all the detailed information about the charging point, prices and schedules; the details of the charges can be monitored in real time and it also allows access to the charges history and invoices. The charging points installed in the Sonae Sierra shopping centres, as well as the rest of the Endesa X charging network, are connected to Endesa X's digital platform, so that users can locate the closest charging station through this application, find out its status, and even reserve the charger.

Endesa X: electric mobility for everyone

The alliance with Sonae Sierra also allows Endesa X to continue advancing with its commitment to promote electric mobility in our country, to facilitate change and transition to all customers, offering solutions that break the barriers that still exist today when it comes to switching to electric mobility and that cover all the recharging needs that a user may have. In short, to facilitate the change and transition for all those who decide to make the leap to getting around with zero emissions. And for this it works globally:

  • Within the company, both with the transformation of its own corporate fleet (today more than 30% is electrified) and helping its employees to make the leap to mobility with zero emissions (10% of the workforce already use an electric car for their private purposes).
  • Outside the company, for our customers, with the contribution of commercial solutions (such as the all-inclusive leasing plan, OneElectric, and the public access recharging infrastructure plan), we are making the transition towards electric mobility simpler for both private and business customers. And all this, hand in hand with the best partners thanks to the agreements the company is reaching, like this one with Sonae Sierra.

The Endesa X Public Access Charging Infrastructure Plan in particular is a plan to democratise electric mobility and cover users' recharging needs wherever they require it and without having to change their public habits (shopping centres, car parks, hotel chains, service areas, public roads, etc.). It will involve the rollout of more than 8,500 public charging points by 2023, with an investment of 65 million euros, in two phases:

In the first phase of the plan, which has just been completed, work has been done to establish a network of 2,000 charging points to connect the main cities (with more than 35,000 inhabitants) and highways, covering 15,000 kilometres of main roads and urban areas, ensuring that 75% of the population has access to public transport charging infrastructure in their municipality. This will allow you to always have a charging point less than 100 kilometres away and be able to travel peacefully through our country.

And in the second phase (2021- 2023), more than 6,500 new public access charging points will be installed to accompany the growth in the electric vehicle market, providing greater infrastructure coverage in urban areas and the main strategic transport nodes. This includes the islands.
