• The energy company has been associated with the Spanish national basketball team since 2012 and now it is linking up with the eSports Team for its upcoming international challenges.

Endesa and the Spanish Basketball Federation have signed a new cooperation agreement under which the company will promote the eSports section of the FEB and its Spanish national team, which is making its international début and on Wednesday announced its squad to play in its second international tournament.

Since Endesa began working with the FEB, the Spanish national team has been the mens' European Champion, World Champion and two-time Olympic medallist. In the women's category, it has followed the example of the national team by winning three continental Gold medals, two World Championship medals and the first Olympic medal (the silver medal at Rio 2016) in the history of Spanish women's basketball.

Now the company is focusing on the eSports section, starting with the Spanish national team's international matches. The first official event was held in June and in the coming days it will compete in the FIBA eSports Open II 2020, in which 18 national teams will take part. Endesa will be promoting these events on its channels, with special content and promotions.

The energy company will also play a central role in the launch of a series of online tournaments for all Spanish players in the NBA 2K community. This is a competition that will serve as a competitive showcase and make it possible to identify talented young eSports players who may one day be able to represent Spain on the national team.
