Enel SpA said Friday that it has signed an agreement with Cisco Italy to bolster their technology partnership with new areas of cooperation.

The Rome-based energy company didn't disclose financial details, but said it would work with the Cisco Systems Inc. subsidiary to enhance cybersecurity, develop solutions for electricity grids, and work on industrial Internet of Things technologies.

The partnership could also include crowdsourcing for sustainable solutions on Enel's OpenInnovability.com platform, Enel said.
