Enel SpA said Monday that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with government-owned supplier Israel Electric Corporation through Infralab in order to scale up research and development activities in the infrastructure and networks business.

The Rome-based energy company said the collaboration's focus will be on grid resiliency, the transition to renewable sources and the protection of critical infrastructures from cyber attacks, as well as identifying technologies to accelerate the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical facilities.

Infralab, a lab established through a joint venture between Enel and Israeli construction company Shikun & Binui Ltd., includes more than 15 start-ups, the energy company said.
