Enel SpA said Wednesday that its energy-services business line Enel X has got a contract to provide Colombia's capital, Bogota, with 401 electric buses and two terminals to charge the vehicles.

The Rome-based energy company said that Chinese auto maker BYD Co. will manufacture the buses, which should be delivered between the end of the year and the beginning of next year.

Enel X will build the electroterminals, which will use renewable energy and should start operations between November and April next year. The terminals will have about 200 e-bus chargers.
